About
Mati Gavriel is a music producer, artist, and director whose work bridges genres, mediums, and continents. Born in Tel Aviv to a German mother and Italian-Greek Jewish father, he grew up in Germany and moved to London at 18 to study sound engineering. Today, he lives between Los Angeles, New York, and Italy — creating music that’s as international as his roots.
Mati’s love for classical music, chansons, bossa nova, jazz, electronic and modern pop fuels his unique approach to sound. He blends genres and eras, combining classic songwriting with forward-thinking production and technology. “I love great songs, I love sound creation, and I love technology — finding new ways to make what’s in my head come alive,” he says.
Previously signed to Warner Music and published by BMG Rights, Mati’s career spans commercial pop, avant-garde sound design, and music for film and television. He has produced records for Jon Batiste, Ke$ha, Belinda Carlisle, Diane Warren, and The Pentatonix, with his work featured across major networks and platforms including Netflix, Hulu, and The CW. His compositions and productions have been showcased at renowned institutions such as MOMA, The Tate Modern, and Frieze Art Fair. Mati won the Independent Music Award for “Hold On,” featured on Charmed (The CW).
Beyond his work with artists and in visual media, Mati’s music has been licensed by T-Mobile, VW, Garnier, and Mercedes-Benz, among others.
As a director, editor, and cinematographer, he has produced and directed numerous music videos and visual works for artists around the world. His creative vision extends seamlessly from sound to image, guided by a passion for storytelling and design.
Mati’s work continues to explore the intersection of analog and digital, art and pop, technology and emotion — always searching for what’s timeless and what’s next.
